safety & quality
Animal feed plays an important role in overall food chain and has implications for the composition and quality of the livestock products that we consume. Camron is committed to help consumer and protect animal health by producing healthy and safe feed.
The primary purpose of animal feed is to provide nutrients. Inclusion of grain in ruminant diets, as a highly concentrated source of energy, can greatly increase the efficiency of animal production and can help the profitability of livestock farm.
Feed contamination can result from exposure of finished feed, feed ingredients, and mixed feed to environmental, agricultural, industrial, or other sources of hazards, at any stage of the feed production continuum – from pre-harvest activities through feed manufacture, storage, and transportation, and continuing to on-farm feeding practices. We ensure that preventive controls for any known or reasonably foreseeable hazard are in place as part of our business operation.
Improving the safety and quality of feed
The presence of mycotoxins, heavy metals and pesticides in feed can adversely affect animal and human health. To make sure that our feed is safe, healthy, digestible and free from chemical hazards, we follow GMP. Good manufacturing practices provide a systematic approach for ensuring feed safety through the identification and use of appropriate controls during the manufacture, packaging, storage, and distribution. Camron believes in compliance with good manufacturing practices that addresses manufacturing, processing, packing, and storage of animal food. These provide a greater assurance that feed will not cause illness or injury to animals or humans.
